This whistleblower function is part of the Swedish EPA’s pre-emptive work against fraud and corruption. The function can be used by the public and other external persons.
For the Swedish EPA’s employees, there is an internal whistleblower function.
What can be reported?
Only fraud and serious irregularities can be reported. Examples are financial crimes such as corruption and bribes, or a person in a leading position at the Swedish EPA abusing his/her position. Another relevant area is the life and health of individuals, e.g. significant safety failures at the workplace or severe forms of discrimination or harassment.
The whistleblower function should not be used to report minor irregularities, dissatisfaction or complaints. Contact Customer Service to leave your points of view.
Who can be reported?
Only the agency itself or persons in leading or key positions within the agency can be reported through the whistleblower function.
Please note that the Swedish EPA cannot investigate suspected fraud in other authorities.
Anonymity
You can choose to be anonymous by not stating your name or any other personal information in your report.
If you want to provide an email address, but remain anonymous, you can create an email address which cannot be traced back to you.
The Swedish EPA is a government agency, which means that information received is considered to be an official document and therefore accessible to the public.
What will happen with your report?
The report is received by the Swedish EPA’s internal auditor and general counsel. An investigation can lead to e.g. a report to the police, the case being handed over to the Swedish EPA’s staff disciplinary board, or that the case is closed.
If you have left your contact details, we will inform you about the measures taken.
